Hyundai Stellar from Korea
The Hyundai Stellar, a roomy, five-passenger, fourdoor saloon powered by a 1600 cu cm overhead camashaft engine with hemispherical combustion chambers and developing 75kW at 6300 rpm, has just been introduced to New Zealand by Korean Motors, Ltd, a company in the Auck-land-based Giltrap group. The Stellar follows on the Hyundai Pony and is described as a luxury fivespeed saloon. It is expected to retail for less than $17,000. A front-engine-rear-drive model, the Stellar will be sold in New Zealand in two specifications, the Ll6OO, which is the basic model, and the Prima 1600 (GSL), which is the top-of-the-line model with AM/FM quadrophonic stereo system, power-operated windows, central door locking, metallic paint and stainless steel brightwork.
