Drop in new car numbers

PA Wellington New car registrations have dropped for the first time this year, with only 6191 New Zealand assembled vehicles being sold in April. The latest Post Office figure, issued yesterday, is 31 per cent down on March, when 8983 new cars were registered. Registrations in January and February were 6952 and 7978 respectively. Only 5544 new cars went on the road last April, 1983.
