Aust, pyramid firm in liquidation
Total Image Pty, Ltd, an Australian pyramid-selling company, which deals in dietary products similar to those offered by the NewZealand company. Total Image New Zealand, Ltd. has been placed in voluntary liquidation, according to Sydney’s evening newspapers yesterday. Earlier in the week, in the New South Wales state Parliament, the Minister for Consumer Affairs, Mr Pacuillo, warned the public to
avoid dealings with the promoters of Total Image Pty, ] which recruited people to ] sell a drink and diet plan. i Mr Pacuillo told Parlia- ' ment that five promoters of 1 Total Image Pty were about ( to "abandon their company” and resume trading under a new corporate name. Total Image New Zealand's managing director, Mrs Anne Brookes, was not available for comment at her Auckland office yesterday. According to two sources within the organisation, TotqJ. Image was brought to Australia in February, 1983. The New Zealand company, which is said to be independent of the Australian company, was started last August, and is part of an international organisation based in Bermuda.
