Hortic. pleased with bid
The managing director of 'Horticultural Industries. Ltd, Mr David Goudie. said that he was surprised but pleased with the company’s new minority shareholder Freightways Holdings, Ltd. Mr Goudie said he had expected “something like this” to occur at some stage, but not quite so soon. “We’d be of interest to a lot of companies because of our prospects and those of the industry," he said. Horticultural was the only listed public company with a general involvement in the industry. He regarded the move as positive because Freightways was an innovative company. “I believe there will be opportunities to do things together which might be to both our advantages.” “We’re happy with who it is. Others might not be able to contribute as much.” Freightways had not had discussions with Horticultural before the stand in the market.
