Angus unavailable
A member of the Canterbury eight-man golf team for the last two years, James Angus, has made himself unavailable for the province’s representative side this year. The slightly-built, stylish Russley player will, however, be available for his club’s Woodward Cup team and that will be welcome news for Russley which has lost half of last year’s regular line-up. Angus was planning a holiday that would
have ruled him out for at least four rounds of the inter-club event, but the former Canterbury stroke and match-play champion said yesterday he was in doubt for only two rounds. Two of Russley’s toporder players, Garth Domigan and Paul Atkinson, have transferred to other districts this season, and another, the New Zealand junior representative, David O’Keefe, has switched to the Coringa Club.
