Wholesale slaughter of cows predicted
NZPA-AFP London A quarter of a million British cows would have to be slaughtered because of a recent decision by European Economic Community Agriculture Ministers to cut Community milk production, British milk producers asserted yesterday during demonstrations in London, and in other main British
cities. Some 50 dairymen marched through the streets of the capital carrying coffins containing empty milk bottles. Two cows wearing signs bearing the words, "condemned to death,” led the procession. In late March the Ministers agreed to reduce milk output over five years.
