This turn-of-the-century bungalow “in the heart of Merivale” was sold for $lBO,OOO in less than five minutes at auction yesterday. “The Moorings,” on the corner of Rugby and Repton Streets, was sold to an uni-
dentified couple who intend to renovate and reconvert the house into a single home. Bidding began at $160,000 at the auction attended by about 40 people. The property on more than half an acre is in two
self-contained flats with four bedrooms, two lounges, a breakfast room, two kitchens and bathrooms, and has a Government valuation of $65,000 (1979). The auctioneer was Mr Miles McCrostie, of N. H. McCrostie and Company.
