Advertisement Hot pools in Akaroa Children visiting Akaroa in their May school holidays are enjoying the hot spa pool and indoor heated swimming pool at the popular “Akaroa Village” complex. Day-trippers having lunch at the Bruce Restaurant, as well as those staying at the “Akaroa Village” motels, are able to use the pools. “The indoor swimming pool is about the same temperature as QEII, and the spa’s really hot,” said the Akaroa Village manager, Dennis Ilton. “People enjoy the Akaroa Village pools in any weather.” The resort’s Bruce Restaurant is expecting lots of people on Mothers’ Day. Its Sunday smorgasbord attracts many visitors from Christchurch at lunch time and is popular with the local community in the evening. Accommodation and evening dinner bookings are made by phoning Akaroa 421.
