The Federation of Labour yesterday expressed its opposition to the planned All Black rugby tour of South Africa in 1985.
A resolution was carried by the conference reaffirming the existing policy of support for the Gleneagles
Agreement and opposition to sporting contacts with people selected on a racial basis.
The resolution also called on the F.O.L. to advise the New Zealand Rugby Union of this opposition, of the federation’s support for anti-apartheid groups, and of its belief that the 1985 tour should not go ahead.
