N.Z. women win golf

PA Palmerston North New Zealand’s top junior women golfers beat their New South Wales counterparts in Palmerston North yesterday, winning the morning foursomes and sharing the afternoon’s four singles. A feature was the second clash of the week between the No. 1 players, Debbie Randell (N.Z.) and Karen Lunn (N.S.W.). As with the matchplay earlier in the week Lunn was again the winner, 3 and 1, after Randell had been square at the

twelfth. The middle of the New Zealand team, Shelley Duncan and Kaye Carroll, had convincing wins in the singles, but the Wellingtonian, Tracey Hansen, had a tough debut, losing 8 and 7.
