Defamation writ
PA Auckland A defamation writ claiming $650,000 in damages has been lodged by the chairman of Equiticorp Holdings, Ltd, Mr Allan Robert Hawkins, against the chairman of directors of C.B.A. Finance Holdings, Ltd, Mr Robert Harold Douglass. Mr Hawkins, of Auckland, was managing director of C.B.A. Finance Holdings, Ltd, until he was dismissed in March.
In his statement of claim, Mr Hawkins says that the defamation action stems from a dispute which arose between himself and C.B.A. Finance Holdings over the formation of Equiticorp Holdings, Ltd.
