Auction of artefacts
Wellington reporter An auction of preColombian South American artefacts was held in Wellington last week. Prices were well down on what might have been fetched overseas, because there were not many buyers. A large urn sold for $l5OO, and a funeral urn made $7OO, but most of the catalogue comprised small figures which sold for prices ranging from $7O to $l5O. The 93 lots sold for a total of $12,835.
