Top dairy farmers on show

A field day is to be held on the property of the winners of the North Canterbury Dairyfarmer of the Year Award, Messrs Eddie and Kevin Bennett, of Ohoka. The field day will be held on Friday, May 18, on the Bennetts' property, Main Drain Rd, Ohoka. Father and son Eddie and Kevin Bennett were presented with their award at a dinner in Christchurch on April 7.

The judges for the North Canterbury Dairyfarmer of the Year Award were Mr John Roadley, a Mid-Can-terbury dairyfarmer, Mr Norm Hart, an M.A.F. adviser, Mr Kevin Wilson, a Rural Bank appraiser, and Mr Mike Wheadon, a Dairy Board consulting officer. The winners were chosen from nine entries and the prize was a trip for two to the Bay of Islands for 10 days. The field day will begin at 10.30 a.m. and end at 3 p.m. All the judges will speak on their own areas of responsibility in the North

Canterbury dairy industry. A guest speaker will be Mr Jeff Stitchbury, controller of herd improvement for the Dairy Board.
