Rock on film
The Midcity Cinema will feature two weeks of rock films, starting tomorrow, to coincide with the school holidays. This Friday and Saturday features the Rolling Stones in “Time is on our Side,” and the “Great Rock ’n’ Roll Swindle” with the Sex Pistols. Sunday’s features are Jimmy Cliff in “The Harder They Come” and Led Zeppelin in “The Song Remains the Same.”
Monday, May 7, and Tuesday, May 8 features the Who double-bill, “Quadrophenia” and “The Kids Are Alright.”
The Band in “The Last Waltz” and the Beatles in “Yellow Submarine” screen on Wednesday and Thursday.
The second week opens on Friday, May 11 with “The Blues Brothers” and “American Graffitti.” The same programme is repeated on Saturday, and Sunday, May 13 and Monday, May 14 has “Woodstock” and the Monkees in “Head.”
The following three days features the “No Nukes” concert and Bette Midler in “Divine Madness.”
