Timetable changes for 11 bus routes

The timetables on 11 Christchurch Transport Board bus routes will be altered on Monday. The services affected will be Beckenham, Rangiora, Templeton, North Beach, South New Brighton, Papanui, Opawa, Mount Pleasant, Avonhead, Southbridge, and Lyttelton. The alterations range from one extra morning service to Cathedral Square on the Avonhead route to a new timetable with extensive changes on the Rangiora run.

On the Beckenham route the 4.25 p.m. week-day ser-

vice from the Square to Beckenham will now leave at 4.30 p.m. On the Templeton route, one afternoon service on Saturdays and public holidays will be altered to leave Quarry Road several minutes later. Two afternoon trips on this route will be deleted, two new ones added and one extended.

Minor changes will be made to some Saturday and public holiday services on the North Beach,- South New Brighton and Papanui routes.

On the Opawa route, one afternoon service will be

extended to Radley on week-days. On the Avonhead route, an extra earlymorning trip will be made.

One early afternoon run to Cathedral Square on the Southbridge service will be rerouted via the Main South Road and Riccarton Road from Hornby. On the Mount Pleasant route one afternoon service to the Square will leave from Bamford Street instead of Garlands Road on week-days.

An early-morning trip from the Square to Lyttelton will be rescheduled to

leave a few minutes earlier as will the return trip from Lyttelton back to the Square. The 7.19 a.m. Port Hills and Bridle Path Road run to the airport, via Opawa, will also be retimed to leave a few minutes earlier.

The Transport Board says that passengers seeking more information on the changes can obtain new timetable booklets from the information kiosk in Cathedral Square or by telephoning the board’s timetable inquiry telephone number, 794-600.
