Pillion rider killed
The pillion passenger of a motor-cycle was killed after a collision between a car and a motor-cycle at the intersection of Brynley Street and Trevor Street, Hornby, last evening. He was Anthony Mark McCrystall, aged 16, of Brynley Street. The dead youth was thrown from the motor-cycle and
struck a power pole, said a spokesman for the Christchurch police. The rider of the motorcycle, Peter Arona, aged 16, was taken to Christchurch Hospital with moderately serious leg injuries. The driver of the car was not injured. The Hornby police seek witnesses to the accident, which happened at 7.06
