N.Z. under 17 rugby team
PA Wellington Andrew McCormick, the son of the former All Black test full-back, Fergie McCormick, has been named captain of the New Zealand under-17 rugby team to play their Australian counterparts on May 19 at Christchurch. The team is: Scott Barclay, Stephen Harding, Graeme Bachop, Andrew McCormick (captain), Jon Preston, Tony MacDonald, Richard Currie (Canter-
bury); Richard Cole, David Ewe (Counties); Simon Clavis, James Saker (Manawatu); Richmond Tuhou (Hawke’s Bay); Warren Johnston (North Auckland); John Tisdall (Otago); Neil Alton, Stephen Gordon, Tui Wilson (Waikato); Graham Laidlaw, Boris Ngatai, Derek Nind (Southland); Nick Mantell (Auckland).
Geoff Alley (Waikato), was originally selected but was not available because of injury.
