Aust. prices rise
NZPA Sydney Share prices rose throughout yesterday on Australian stock exchanges after rises on Wall Street and a firmer copper price. Overseas interest was moderate with New York interest noted. At the close, the all-ordin-aries index was up 5.7 points at 761.3, the all-industrials index gaining 4.4 points to 999.6, and the all-resources index firming 6.5 points to 572.0. BHP rose 15c to 1150 c while the rights, on their last trading day were up 18c at 390 c. CSR rose 5c to 375 c. Brokers reported overseas interest in metals, notably copper stocks, with CRA up 6c to 612 c and MIM up 5c to 355 c. North Broken Hill rose 7c to 275 c, Renison finned 5c to 355 c, but EZ Industries lost 6c to 540 c.
