Diocesan president named
Mrs Gaye Branthwaite, of Ashburton, has been appointed diocesan president of the Association of Anglican Women. The Bishop of Christchurch, the Rt Rev. Maurice Goodall, announced Mrs Branthwaite’s appointment while in Ashburton last week.
Bishop Goodall said he was pleased that the appointment had gone to someone outside Christchurch. “The diocese is not just Christchurch,” he said. “Mrs Branthwaite will be able to give her experience of people and problems in the provinces.”
