University group recognised
PA Wellington The newly formed New Zealand Association of University Staff has been recognised by the Minister of State Services, Mr Thomson, as the organisation to represent non-academic university staff. The staff, mainly in clerical jobs, were brought under the pay-fixing machinery of the State Services last year, said Mr Thomson yesterday. A national ballot of staff conducted by the Labour Department last December showed a clear majority favouring the formation of a national organisation of the type now established.
