Phone company to sell office system
Pacific Telesis, one of the new telephone companies formed after the break-up of A. T. and T., has come to an agreement with Data General to sell that company’s integrated office system. Pactel Communications Systems, a subsidiary of Pacific Telesis, will offer
Data General’s office automation system to a market area which includes more than one million businesses in California and Nevada. Data General said it believes this is the first agreement through which a newly created regional telephoneoperating company will market a computer firm’s system.
