Parliamentary reporter A Christchurch company director, Mr W. B. Barnes, has been reappointed to the boards of Petroleum Corporation (Exploration) and the Petrochemical Corporation for further three-year terms. Mr Barnes is also the chairman of the Offshore Mining Company, Ltd, and holds positions on the boards of Petrocorp, Petralgas Chemicals . and Maui Development, Ltd. He is the chairman of Andrews and Beaven, Litchfield (NZ), Ltd, Buntings, and the Printing and Pack-
aging Corporation. Other directors reappointed are Mr F. W. Orr, the chairman of Petrocorp and Petralgas Chemicals; Mr W. R. Jackson, the chairman of the Natural Gas Corporation and a director of Petrocorp and Petrocorp Exploration; and Mr P. J. Gresham, the chairman of the Petrochemical Corporation of NZ, Ltd. Mr Gresham is also the managing director of West Coast Development, Ltd, Landsdown Holdings, Ltd, and Waverley Finance Company Ltd.
Comalco quarter Comalco, Ltd lifted bauxite shipments 34 per cent and primary aluminium production 31.9 per cent in the latest March quarter over the same quarter in 1983. The company says bauxite production at Weipa, in Queensland, was 2.07 million tonnes in the latest three months, and shipments rose to 1.74 million tonnes. Comalco says the increases reflect higher stockpile levels and greater demand from Queensland Alumina Ltd. Primary aluminium production from the company’s Bell Bay smelter in Tasmania and its share of production from the smelters at Tiwai Point, New Zealand, and Boyne Island, Queensland, rose to 74,819 tonnes from 56,725 tonnes.

ously the company's national sales and marketing manager. His appointment fills the vacancy created by the retirement of Mr R. R. A. McLauchlan (right), the managing director, who will retain his directorship on the board.
