Price increases approved

PA Wellington The Department of Trade and Industry has listed notifications received under the Economic Stabilisation (Prices) Regulations, 1983. during the fortnight ended Wednesday, April 18. In the period 79 notifications were received, 44 cleared, and 113 were on hand, 15 investigations were started and four completed, 22 investigations were on hand, and four prices were determined. Inquiries received from the public in relation to price increases, and inquiries begun into prices for non-notifying traders, for the fortnight ended April 18, totalled 345, 189 investigations were started and 61 completed, 343 investigations were on hand. Notifications which were cleared or approved during the two weeks which ended on April 18 were:— Union Steamship Company, Ltd: Timber cargoes shipped from New Zealand to Australia, increases of 6.25 per cent to Sydney, Melbourne, Hobart, 9.s'per cent to Brisbane. Henderson and Pollard Timber, Ltd: Radiata timber supplies, including Boraic and Tanalith treatment, increases of an average of 5 per cent. East Tamaki Co-op Dairy Company, Ltd: Royal Tasman Camembert cheeses, increases of 6.5 per cent average. Fletcher Brownbuilt: Metal roofing and cladding, increases of steel 7.39 per cent average, aluminium 13.02 per cent average. N.Z. Bakels, Ltd: Raw materials used by baker, pastrycooks, and commercial kitchens, increases of 5.75 per cent average. VIKO Holdings, Ltd: Photographic processing and printing, increases of 5.9 per cent. New Zealand Newspapers Ltd, The “Star” (Christchurch): The “Star-Weekend,” StarCommunity Newspapers, newspaper increase from 20c to 25c, other paper increases from 40c to 50c A.H.I. Roofing: Klass Faslia — guttering — accessories, increases of 2.8 per cent average, metal roofing tiles and accessories, increases of 2.8 per cent. Auckland Glass Company: Acrylic and polycarbonate sheet, increases of 3 per cent average. Securitas (N.Z.), Ltd: Security services and mobile patrols, increases of 5.6 per cent average. Hicksons Timber Impregnation Company, Ltd: Tanalith — NCA wood preservative, increases of 6.38 per cent. Lucas Industries (N.Z.), Ltd: Workshop charge-out rate, increases of 5.15 per cent. Fletcher Industries, Ltd, — Zonepak ter Consultants Bureau: Payroll processing, increases of 9.7 per cent. Seaport Operations, Ltd: Container repairs, increases of 7 to BVz per cent •
