Rowing team named
PA Wanganui A team of six women rowers will represent New Zealand in annual transTasman races in Australia in August. The team was named yesterday after trials on the Wanganui River. Lightweight and senior B men’s crews will be named later in the week. New Zealand will compete with a four, a pair-oar (selected from the four), two
single scullers (Michels will also compete in the singles) and a double scull (Michels and Clarke). The women’s crews are.— Coxed four: Ruth Van Der Veen (Te Awamutu), stroke, Yvonne McLaren (North Shore), Karen Houtman (Te Awamutu), Margaret Campbell (Nelson), bow. Reserve: Diane Michels. Coxswain: Andrea Bocock (Te Awamutu). Single sculler: Robin Clark (Cambridge).
