Export award
The world-wide popularity of British television shows such as “Minder”, “The Benny Hill Show” and “Man About The House” have helped Thames Television International win a major export award. The London-based television company has won the Queen’s Award for Export Achievement, the highest Government accolade for export success. Thames programmes are sold to 127 countries and in the last 10 years sales abroad have soared from $1 million to $39 million. Other popular shows exported by Thames include “Rumpole of the Bailey” and “Dangermouse.” — London.
