Four residential sections between Cheyenne Street and Racecourse Road in Paparua were sold at auction on April 14. The first, at 894 sq m, fetched $32,000 and the second, at 610 sq m, $35,000. The third, 820 sq m, went for $30,000 and the fourth, 829 sq m, went for $42,000. The auctioneer, Mr Walter Knight of Whittle, Knight and Boatwood, Ltd, said that the properties did not have separate G.V.s but that their average value was assessed in 1980 at between $16,000 and $17,000.
He said that about 60 people turned up to the sale and attributed the interest to sections being in short supply because there had been no major subdivisions in the last few years.
