Suspicious office fire
Detectives and fire safety officers are investigating a suspicious fire in. an inner Christchurch office building yesterday afternoon. The fire, on the second floor of a building at the corner of Hereford Street and Hereford Lane, was noticed about 1 p.m. Five appliances from
Fire Service headquarters answered the alarm. Although the fire had apparently been going for some time, it had caused little damage, said a Fire Service spokesman.A police spokesman said there were indications that the building had been broken into before the fire.
