FISHERIES RESEARCH DIVISION GLENARIFFE SALMON RESEARCH STATION OPEN DAYS THE GLENARIFFE salmon research station will be open to the public over the week-end April 28-29, 1984 from 10 a.m. Displays will Include: • operation of the two-way fish trap. • handling of adult fish at 11.00 a.m. and 2.00 p.m. each day. • tagging of juvenile salmon. • video display of salmon tagging project. • juvenile salmon rearing in raceways. • equipment displays. Glenariffe is located In the upper reaches of the Rakala River, at the confluence of the Glenariffe Stream and the; main river. It is approximately 2 hours drive from Christchurch and can be reached by turning off Inland State Highway 72 at the Blacford road intersection (signposted) on the south side of the river.

PANELBEATING TRADE CERTIFICATE TCB (Trade Theory) NZ INSTITUTE WELDING ‘A’’ GRADE WELDER CERTIFICATE: Suitable for welders with or without previous qualification. This part-time course of 35 weeks prepares the student for the examination in November 1984. Minimum entry prerequisite, four years experience In the welding Industry and a current NZS certificate (tests provided). SHEETMETAL TRADE CERTIFICATE TUTORIAL: For sheetmetal apprentices studying towards November 1984 examinations — Includes trade calculations, trade drawing, trade theory. NZS 4711 WELDER CERTIFICATION: This class Is suitable for welders wishing to upgrade their skills In manual arc welding to qualification standard. Applicants should be skilled or semiskilled, or have had at least two years experience in the welding industry, or have successfully completed a full year of formal training at Christchurch Polytechnic. On completion of course, students will be given the opportunity to sit the formal NZS 4711 Arc Welders Qualification Test. Course tee $44.50 per term plus test fees. BASIC WELDING COURSES: The following classes are suitable for persons wishing to develop skills at Basic or Intermediate levels. Beginners Arc Welding Beginners Gas Welding Beginners MIG and TIG Welding Course fees $44.50 per term. All course fees must be paid at the time of enrolment.
