Northland’s largest transport company, United Carriers, Ltd, will apply for a listing on the Stock Exchange.
The directors hope that a prospectus will be available in June.
The company was formed in 1963 with 18 trucks. The first year’s turnover was £60,000. It now has 80 trucks and a turnover of more than $lO million. It employs 150 staff and its activities range from roadworks and quarrying to furniture removal.
