Kelliher Plate abandoned
PA Auckland The Kelliher Plate, the main event at the Avondale Jockey Club’s Anzac Day meeting tomorrow, has been abandoned because of insufficient acceptors.
Of the 15 horses entered for the weight-for-age 1400 m race, eight were left in the field when acceptances closed last evening.
Several were doubtful starters, however, because of the likelihood of a hard track. The programme now comprises eight races.
