NZPA-Reuter Ito The Japanese Prime Minister, Mr Yasuhiro Nakasone, said yesterday he would not be able to visit New Zealand and Australia as planned for late July because of pressing Parliamentary business.

He has also cancelled plans to visit West Germany, France, and Italy, after a summit meeting in London of major industrialised nations in June. Mr Nakasone noted that

important Government legislation, including bills to denationalise the telecommunications industry, were awaiting Parliamentary approval. The Parliamentary session is due to end on May 23. Members of Mr Nakasone’s Liberal Democratic Party are pressing for an extension of at least two months.
