Prisoners found, then escape
PA Dunedin Two prisoners escaped from the Roxburgh police cells yesterday. The police with tracker dogs were still searching the area late last evening for any sign of the men, who were reported missing from Cherry Farm Hospital earlier this month. “They are unpredictable, and should be treated as dangerous,” said Sergeant A. C. Dowie, of Dunedin, from Roxburgh on Thursday evening. The men are Jeffrey Linus Constable, aged 18, and Tipene Andrew Vcrmeara, aged 24, who were remand patients at Cherry Farm until their escape from the hospital on April 10. They were arrested in Roxburgh on Thursday but escaped yesterday.
