Stabbing incident arrest
A woman has been arrested after a stabbing incident yesterday at a house in Mairehau, Christchurch. Detective Senior-Sergeant Robert Meikle, of the Christchurch police, said another woman, aged 23, was stabbed five times in the back. The incident happened at 2.30 a.m. allegedly after an argument between the two women, both of whom lived in a Kellys Road house. The victim, Ms Suzanne Berry, was admitted to Christchurch Hospital with “moderate” knife wounds but left later yesterday morning. The other woman was held in custody last night, to appear in court this morning on a charge of wounding with intent.
