US Waikato Stud Limited seeks Managing Director 1 Waikato Stud Limited is the recently incorporated new * owner of the former Nelson Bunker Hunt owned property, Waikato Stud at Matamata. The company has also negotiated the purchase of Balcarres Stud Limited and plans to stand the stallions from both establishments and merge the top brands of broodmares and fillies. S Reporting to the Board of Directors, the Managing • Director will be responsible for the entire day to day activities of the Company. He will have reporting to him a General Property Manager and a stud Groom. The position therefore calls for a person with considerable all-round ability, particularly with experience in financial management, and with a thorough knowledge and understanding of the breeding industry 3. The successful candidate will: • organise, direct and co-ordinate all policy, financial and management activities in accordance with Board policies and guidelines; • be able to liaise and earn the respect of owners, breeders, trainers and bloodstock agents, generally act in a public relations capacity and in doing so be prepared to answer phone calls at all hours, show hospitality to visitors to the farm and show and create goodwill. e be able to attend to the substantial formal reporting requirements to industry authority and owners. • be able to carry out the extensive advertising and promotional functions of the Company; • oversee all aspects of the Company’s operations including agistment and mating of Company and client mares, preparation of yearlings, preparation of racehorses; • analyse, review, interpret and report on budgets, forecasts variances and operating procedures. 4 The benefits package includes a premium salary, an * incentive program and comfortable and prestigious on-farm accommodation. 5 Persons interested in the above appointment should • write in confidence enclosing references and outlining experience to: The Chairman Waikato Stud Limited P.O.
