GROUP MANAGEMENT ACCOUNTANT SENIOR APPOINTMENT The Petrocorp Group of Companies, now in Its sixth year of operations, has assets in excess of $l5OO million and is continuing a wide range of activities in developing New Zealand’s Indigenous resources. The Petrocorp Group, located in Wellington, is seeking to appoint a Group Management Accountant. This new senior position rreports to the Group Chief Accountant and the appointee’s prime responsibilities will be to analyse and review, with Senior Management, the trends and variances in financial reports of the Petrocorp Group. Specific responsibilities will include: • participating in the development of management information systems on a group basis; • interpreting financial/accounting data for management in evaluating financial aspects of business operation and the preparation of input for monthly Board reports; • co-ordinating the preparation of Group annual budgets and capital expenditure plans; • liaising with Planning Section in preparation of long term forecasts. It is unlikely that an applicant with less than 8 years work experience will have acquired the necessary skills to carry out the requirements of this senior position. The appointee must also demonstrate proven communication/interfacing skills, particularly in the area of working with and motivating staff at various levels throughout the Group. A competitive remuneration package will be offered to the successful applicant. The Company will meet reasonable re-location expenses.
