M. Smolensk! fined $75
Mark Smolensk] was fined $75 for failing to straighten his horse, King Aurea, when he began to run in near the finish of the Big Softie Stakes at Addington Raceway on Saturday. An objection was lodged against second placing being awarded to King Aurea on the grounds of causing interfer-
ence to Montrose, driven by Jack Carmichael. The objection was dismissed after Carmichael said he did not think Montrose would have beaten King Aurea. Tyman Foyle was pulled up in the same race. His trainerdriver, Alistair Malcolmson, said he thought the horse had broken a pedal bone.
