Machete attack sequel
PA Auckland A Tokoroa forestry worker who attacked another man with a machete was yesterday jailed for 18 months. Jack Solomon, aged 31, had earlier been found guilty by a High Court jury of wounding with intent to injure on February 4. Imposing sentence in the High Court at Auckland yesterday, Mr Justice Moller said Solomon had a shock-
ing list of previous convictions covering many areas of crime including dishonesty, violence, escaping from custody and drug offences. Solomon had a list of more than 50 convictions and had received every type of penalty, including sentences designed to help him. His Honour said that the attack was an appalling incident in which Solomon used a machete and wounded his victim.
