NEW ZEALAND WALKWAY OPENING ASHBURTON WALKWAY THIS walkway; which runs from the Ashburton township to the river mouth at Hakatere, follows the Ashburton River and is to be opened by Mr W. Hart, Chairman of the Ashburton County Council, on Sunday, April 15, at 1.30 pm. The public is invited to attend the opening ceremony and enjoy the outstanding scenic and recreational features that the walkway offers. The venue for the opening will be at the Cochranes Road entrance to the walkway. An inaugural walk will be held after the opening ceremony. The walk is expected to take about two hours.
