U.S. gives away dairy surplus

NZPA staff correspondent Washington The United States has given 115,730 tonnes of surplus dairy products to eight countries so far this fiscal year (starting October 1), according to the United States Agriculture Department. The latest donation, confirmed at a signing ceremony on April 10, was 5288 tonnes of non-fat dried milk, butter, and cheese to the Dominican Republic.
