Games to be televised
New Zealand’s four Olympic Games qualifying matches in Singapore will be televised live.
Coverage of New Zealand’s first match, against Saudi Arabia, will begin at midnight on Sunday evening. The second game, against Kuwait, next Thursday night will begin screening at 10.30 p.m. The third match, against South Korea, will be televised at 12.30 a.m. on Monday, April 23; while screening of the fourth game, against Bahrain, will begin at 10.30 p.m. on April 24. An hour’s highlights of each match will be screened at 10.30 a.m. the morning after the game is played.
All four games will be televised, regardless of New Zealand’s progress in the series.
Should New Zealand contest the play-off, it will be televised at 11.30 p.m. on April 29, with highlights the next morning. The full schedule of games in Group A is: April 14: Bahrain v. Kuwait;
April 15: New Zealand v. Saudi Arabia;
April 17: Kuwait v. South Korea, Bahrain v. Saudi Arabia;
April 19: Kuwait v. New Zealand, Bahrain v. South Korea;
April 22: Kuwait v. Saudi Arabia, New Zealand v.
South Korea; April 24: New Zealand v. Bahrain, Saudi Arabia v. South Korea. The programme for group B is: April 15: Japan v. Thailand; April 16: Qatar v. Malaysia; April 18: Thailand v. Iraq, Malaysia v. Japan; April 21: Thailand v. Qatar, Japan v. Iraq; April 23: Qatar v. Iraq, Thailand v. Malaysia; April 26: Qatar v. Japan, Iraq v. Malaysia. The two group winners automatically advance to Los Angeles, with the two runners-up playing off for the third place on April 29.
