Rolling doctors back?
Blenheim reporter Disappointment with the stand taken by the medical profession at the end of the price freeze was expressed by the Minister of Trade and Industry, Mr Templeton, in his address to the New Zealand Flour Millers’ Association conference. Mr Templeton said that he was surprised that such a leading profession should strke out as it had. “It is surprising that they, as a majority, should think it perfectly expedient to put their prices up anything up to 50 per cent and, in many cases, more. “Here we have one of the finest professions in the country, probably among the highest paid with work that they enjoy, taking a cut at the cake that is really unconscionable. They are really inviting, given our wider responsibility, a look at rolling them back,” Mr Templeton said.
