LWR in new product
Lane Walker Rudkin Industries, Ltd, has purchased Auckland-based Moray Industries, Ltd, Australasia’s largest wetsuit manufacturer.
Wetsuit making was technically in the same genera] area as the clothes manufacturing of LWR, that company’s managing director, Mr P. H. Rudkin, said yesterday. Both companies were also putting emphasis on growth in the same export markets — the United States and Australia.
Mr Rudkin said Moray had a subsidiary in Australia and branches in the United States. No changes were planned in its operation and Mr G. Carrie, Moray’s general manager, would continue in the job. The Auckland company is also a wholesaler in New Zealand and Australia of international brands of diving equipment. The take-over is subject to consent from the Examiner of Commercial Practices. Mr Rudkin said Moray was previously owned by two partners and the acquisition was for cash.
