Money left for final bus ticket prize

Although the Christchurch Transport Board’s Bus n’ Win promotion ended yesterday people would be well advised not to throw away the tickets that they have collected during the last six weeks. Unsuccessful tickets with the owner’s name and address and the prize question answered can be left at the board’s display in the Canterbury Centre next week. On Friday at 12.30 p.m. a draw will be held, and any prize-money not collected will be given to the owners of the tickets drawn.

He praised the role of the board’s bus drivers in handing out the tickets to passengers during the promotion. Support by retailers who advertised on the tickets had also paid for all of the prize-money, Mr Francis said. Between 2000 and 3000 prizes had been available during the competition, valued about $lO,OOO. Many of the smaller prizes had not been claimed, Mr Francis said. The board’s next step would be to do market research for a month or six weeks. That would be aimed at keeping the new passengers attracted by the competition, Mr Francis said.
