W.H.O. anniversary
Today is World Health Day, held each year on April 7 to mark the anniversary of the founding of the World Health Organisation. This year’s theme is “Children’s health — tomorrow’s wealth,” a reminder that everyone shares in the responsibility to safeguard the healthy minds and bodies of the
world’s children. Child health this year is a priority programme for the Health Department, which will give attention to key issues from the Child Health Report. One of these issues is the prevention of burns and scalds by promoting safer practices and safer appliances in the home.
