Referee confirmed
Basketball’s world controlling body, F.1.8.A., has confirmed the appointment of Robin Milligan, of Christchurch, as a referee at the pre-Olympic Games women’s qualifying tournament in Cuba next month. The tournament will be held from May 5 to May 16 and has attracted 19 teams, including Australia. The top four teams will join Russia, the world champions, and
the United States, the host nation, at the Olympic tournament in Los Angeles in August. Although he has yet to receive notification of transportation, Mr Milligan expects to leave Christchurch on either May 1 or May 2. Mr Milligan is one of New top referees and has had considerable overseas experience in the last couple of years.
