Bomb defused
NZPA-PA London London detectives are investigating a possible link between the bomb found in a restaurant yesterday and the week-end bombing campaign in which 26 people were injured. Yesterday’s alert, which resulted in the police’s cordoning off part of the West End for two hours, was sparked when a bomb was discovered by cleaning staff at the Omar Khayyam, an Arab nightclub and restaurant in Regent Street. The restaurant shares a six-floor building with the London offices of ALIA Royal Jordanian Airlines. The police are working on the theory that the device may have been left there over the week-end. Explosives experts made it safe.
