$l000 for organ
An anonymous donor has given JlOOO to the Christchurch Town Hall pipe-or-gan fund. The chairman of the Christchurch Civic Music Council, Mr Wallace Woodley, said the fund had grown $3050 in the last fortnight. A gift of $5O - had also been made recently. “It is most gratifying to
receive this support from the public even before the public fund-raising campaign has been launched,” said Mr Woodley. The council, encouraged by telephone calls, letters, and contributions from people who would like a pipe organ in the Town Hall, will discuss fund-rais-ing ventures next week.
