Fairy tales
Performers as young as 2Vz years will appear in the Canterbury Theatre School’s Christchurch Festival production on Friday evening. The show will feature a trilogy of fairy tales, “The Elves and the Shoemaker,” “Hansel and Gretel” and “The Twelve Dancing Princesses.” The musical score has been written by a Christchurch teacher, Alan
Ferriss. The school’s director, Heather Campbell, will direct the young performers. The cast will con-, sist of 130 ballet, drama and singing pupils, up to the age of 16, plus several adults, including former London stage and television artists. Myles Hantier designed the set for the production, which begins at 7 p.m.
