Business links for the arts

A new monthly publication by the Queen Elizabeth II Arts Council is devoted to the common interests of art and business. A message from Sir Michael Fowler, the chairman of the council, says the council wants to promote the relationship between the arts and business community. “We are currently setting up a data base on which arts organisations and businesses can draw for information,” Sir Michael said.

The first issue of “Arts Business” notes the B.P. New Zealand sponsorship of the Performers in Schools Programme, the Philips Electrical studio glass award, the T.N.L. Group’s sponsorship of emergent composers, Toyota’s New Zealand Symphony Orchestra concerts, I.B.M’s donation to the orchestra, the Westpac sponsorship of the Paul Klee exhibition and the Burroughs Line ticketing system for the Christchurch Festival.
