Pope to visit Asia, Pacific
NZPA-Reuter Rome Pope John Paul II has announced that he will visit South Korea, Thailand, Papua New Guinea, and the Solomon Islands in May. The Pope made the announcement at the end of an Ash Wednesday service at St Callistus Catacombs in Rome. The bishops’ conferences of the four countries had already announced the Pope’s trip, his twenty-first outside Italy. The exact dates are to be announced.
